National Leaders of Education (NLEs) are outstanding Headteachers who have extensive experience of working with other schools. NLEs usually work with schools identified as being in need of significant improvement, providing high- quality support to those most in need. Their main focus is to bring about School Leadership improvement and help raise standards

Mrs Lorraine Heath
Lorraine has been the Headteacher of Uffculme School since 2008. Prior to this she worked in a number of secondary schools in Somerset. Lorraine started her career at Ladymead in Taunton (now The Taunton Academy) before moving to Huish Episcopi and then taking up the post of Head of English at Court Fields.
Following a year working as an English consultant for the National Strategies, Lorraine returned to Ladymead as Assistant Head and then subsequently Deputy from where she moved to Uffculme. In 2013 Lorraine was elected on to the regional Headteacher Board where she works with a number of Outstanding South West Heads with Rebecca Clark on the Academies programme for the region. She has also recently joined the Board of Richard Huish College Trust.
Mr Jonathan Bishop
Jonathan spent 16 years as a class teacher and Deputy Headteacher at Broadclyst Primary School. He became the Headteacher in 2010 and achieved the first Academy status for a Primary school in Devon.
He has pioneered the way in developing media rich digital classrooms, home access systems, collaborative and creative online learning spaces and established working partnerships with firms and schools around the world. Jonathan’s experience of a creative curriculum and integration of ICT into the classroom ensures he is a regular speaker at education conferences worldwide. Jonathan is part of the DfE Primary Academy Programme and is pioneering and championing with the DfE, 2 year olds in school.
