We are working in partnership with SSAT to deliver the National Award for Middle Leaders (NAML). Having already provided this accredited course to two cohorts of teachers, we are now looking to start a new cohort in January 2018 which will run over two academic years.
Middle leaders have an essential role in translating the school’s vision into practice and are often described as the ‘engine room’ of school improvement. Outstanding schools have high-quality middle leaders and seek to continuously develop and build these individuals into high-performing teams. NAML offers a range of modules which build the foundations of successful leadership.
Who is it aimed at?
The programme is suitable for colleagues in a middle leadership role (pastoral or curriculum, primary or secondary) or those who are aspiring to become middle leaders. The programme provides a good opportunity to offer CPD to possible middle leaders of the future.
In addition to providing high quality professional development, NAML is certified by SSAT. Delegates need to have completed all 10 modules of the course to achieve the Award. There is also the opportunity to personalise the programme and all delegates will receive certification for those modules they have completed.
When will the sessions run?
The Year 1 modules will be run as a whole day inset day on 18 January 2018 and a series of twilight sessions on 27 February, 27 March and 17 May running from 4.00pm to 6.00pm.
This is a two year training programme with five modules offered in each academic year. At the end of year 1, participants can choose to complete a further five modules leading to the completion of the NAML. Whilst we envisage that most participants will complete five modules within a year, there is no requirement to do so.

How much does it cost?

Please note that we require a minimum number of 8 participants for each module to run. In the case of a module not running you will be asked to select another preference.
